Falling for Autumn Inspired Wedding Cakes

It’s that time already folks. The Autumn Equinox is happening this Sunday 23rd September; marking the official first day of Autumn.

Instead of mourning the summer, we want to celebrate the season of crunchy leaves, chilly fingers clasped around hot chocolates, cute knitwear and vibrant colour and beauty around every corner.

Not convinced? Perhaps this will change your mind; last year, we created this gorgeously autumnal wedding cake tower for a lovely couple getting married at Peckforton Castle in the heart of Cheshire.

Our talented team spent hours hand crafting and colour matching the fallen leaves and adorable little pumpkins to perch on top of the cakes. We use Renshaw Fondant to create all of our sugarpaste decorations at HLC.

The 6″ layer cake was a sticky toffee and ginger sponge coated with toffee buttercream and we’ll let you in on a little secret – the bakers used a fork to create that stunning bark effect.

The cupcake sponges for this tower came in a variety of yummy flavours; coffee and walnut, pistachio and white chocolate and raspberry and coconut. The buttercream’s were lemon drizzle, chocolate and sticky toffee and ginger.
